Then, wake up early for a visit at dawn in Machu Picchu, which includes a guided tour of 2 hours plus free time to explore this wonderful ancient wonder on your own.

Important Information

  • Tripods are not allowed on the historical site. You can leave yours in the lockers outside.
  • Professional cameras are not allowed. Permits for professional cameras exceed $ 300, so avoid bringing a professional-looking camera.
  • You cannot come to Machu Picchu with your travel backpack. Only smaller models can leave their backpack in Aguas Calientes if they are trapped with it. You can pay a hotel a small amount of money to take care of it.
  • Canes are not allowed unless the person needs them.
  • Only small folding umbrellas are allowed, so avoid carrying a large umbrella with spikes.

Day 1
Cusco – Aguas Calientes

We leave Cusco very 09:00 am in the morning we’ll drive to the village of Ollantaytambo which is located in the Sacred Valley where we will take our train to Aguas Calientes. With unparalleled landscape throughout the journey, the train journey itself is a lifetime experience. Following the Urubamba River downstream the Sacred Valley you’ll get to Aguas Calientes by about 02:30 pm then we go to check in your hotel and after checking in to our hotel you’ll have all the afternoon free. Whether you want to take advantage of your free afternoon you could visit the Machu Picchu museum, orchid exhibition and butterfly exhibitions which is a 40 minutes’ walk outside of the village or you can just relax in the hot springs which is 5 minutes’ walk of the town.

Day 2
Machu Picchu!

Day two is the most magical day: Machu Picchu. We will wake up early to take the first bus up to Machu Picchu and see the sunrise over the ruins. If you want, we can go a bit late to Machu Picchu.

Your guide will spend around 2 hours explaining the highlights of Machu Picchu. Afterward, you will have free time to explore by yourself the rest of the ruins and hike Huaynapicchu if you have booked this option. (This is a separate entrance ticket that costs $15 per person. Finally, you will return to Aguas Calientes and take a train back to Ollantaytambo, and then bus back to Cusco. Once in Cusco, we will transfer you back to your hotel.
