This breathtaking adventure in the heart of the Vilcabamba range will take you through astonishing landscapes dominated by snow-capped mountains, crossed by mighty rivers, and see traditional villages until you reach the mountaintop citadel of Machu Picchu itself.

The Salkantay trek to Machu Picchu is challenging yet immensely rewarding and ranks high among Peru’s most spectacular trekking routes.

Day 1
Cusco - Mollepata – Challacancha - Humantay - Soraypampa

04:00 to 4:30 am. Transfer of the hotels.
05:00 am. Departure Cusco - Mollepata.
08:30 am. Breakfast (NOT INCLUDED).
09:00 am. Transfer from Mollepata - Challacancha.
10:00 am. Walk from Challacancha to Soraypampa (Approximately - 3 hours).
1:00 pm. Lunch.
2:00 pm. Walk Soraypampa - Humantay Lagoon. Approx - 02 hours of walking.
5.00 pm. Camp and Tea Time.
7.00 pm. Dinner and overnight. Camp.

Day 2
Soraypampa - Salkantay Pass - Huayracmachay - Challway

06:00 am. Breakfast.
07:00 am. Walk Soraypampa to Salkantay Pass (Free Time) -Huayracmachay. Approx. 4 to 5 hours
1:30 am. Lunch.
2:00 pm. Huayracmachay walk - Challway.
5.00 pm. Camp and Tea Time.
7.00 pm. Dinner and overnight camp.

Day 3
Challway - Playa Sahuayaco - Santa Teresa

06:00 am. Breakfast.
07:00 am. Walk to Playa Sahuayaco approx. 6 hours
1:00 pm. Lunch.
2:30 pm. Local bus to Playa Sahuayaco to Santa Teresa.

3:30 pm. Camp (Optional - Thermal baths).

7:00 pm. Tea Time, Dinner, and overnight camp.

Day 4
Santa Teresa – Hidroeléctrica – Machu Picchu Pueblo

06:30 am. Breakfast.
07:30 am. Walk from Santa Teresa to Hydroelectric 3 hours approx.
12:00 pm. Lunch on the way from Hydroelectric to Machu Picchu Pueblo 3 hours approx.
4:00 pm. Accommodation in Hostel in Aguas Calientes.
7:00 pm. Dinner and overnight. Informative talk for the next day's tour with the guide.

Day 5
Machu Picchu Pueblo - Cusco

04:30 am Start of ascent on the trek to Machu Picchu ruins.
06:00 am Guided tour for 2 hours.
09:00 am Free time. It is recommended to Climb Huaynapicchu mountain, visit the Temple of the Moon, the Inca Bridge, etc.
Schedule to coordinate with the guide the walk back down to Machu Picchu town.
Return by train: Machu Picchu Pueblo to Ollantaytambo
Transfer: Train station to Cusco.

Recommendations:

Passengers must personally carry the following: Toilet implements, a small kit containing a pair of bandages, muscle pain cream, pills for altitude sickness, fever, upset stomach, water purification tablets, sunscreen, mosquito repellent, bottled water, flashlight, plastic rain ponchos, dark glasses, binoculars, camera, walking stick, hiking shoes, thermal clothing for the night, light clothes for the day, money at personal discretion and the original passport. Students must carry the valid ISIC card.

Others:

We offer sleeping bags for rent for 4 days: $ 15.00 and $ 20.00. For passengers carrying extra cargo and need to rent a horse during the 3 days, it is US $ 90.00 each.

Notes:

1 .-  In the case of students with an ISIC card and Children up to 7 years, the rates are reduced in the following amounts: Students: US $ 20.00, and Children: US $ 60.00. 2.- To climb Huaynapicchu mountain, the cost of admission is US $20.00 and must be purchased in advance. The spaces are limited, per day a maximum of 400 people enters at different times: from 06:00, 07:00 am and then to 08:00 am 200 people each hour. From 10:00 to 11:00 am another 200.
